Datactics Technology

Datactics v4 is a set of high performance applications to enable you to solve your data quality issues.

Datactics is a true product set, not a framework, and hence does not require the expense of extensive customized programming. It is designed for use by the employee with knowledge of the data and not by a software engineer. The implementation of a Datactics solution is not an in-house IT development project nor is it a services offering but a rapid development and deployment application for solving complex data quality issues.

Components

Data Quality Platform: Underpinning the Datactics v4 is a set of data quality engines specifically built for optimization of the data quality operation required. These engines can handle massive volumes of data (hundreds of millions of records) with blistering speed on 32 bit or 64 bit platforms, Windows or UNIX (including variants). Further Details.

FlowDesigner: This is the data quality process designer. A true graphical user interface (GUI) application requiring no coding and enabling the implementation of even the most complex of data quality functions. Further Details.

Master Reference Files: The Master Reference Files captures your referencable knowledge about your data and makes that data available to the data quality processes implemented. The knowledge can be utilized as required, for example standard terms and abbreviations can be used to standardize information to enforce consistency or to extract those terms from free form text descriptions. Applications

Using the Datactics Product Suite you can design and build data quality processes with ease, testing on samples of your data to ensure that processes are correct. The Datactics Product Suite incorporates applications which can be customized and deployed to your needs:

Data Quality Manager: 

The Data Quality Manager (DQM) is a web application enabling the scheduling and execution of data quality processes designed with Datactics v4.

In addition to the administration of users, the base DQM consists of the functionality to schedule and execute data quality processes,  to view the output from those processes,  to configure a data quality firewall and to review duplicate records through the master record manager capability.

It also contains a reporting capability for audit based information and data quality information. Further Details.

Master Record Manager: When a matching and deduplication process is undertaken and clusters of matching records are detected some of the matches will be of high confidence, that is to say they are confirmed or precise matches, others will be of lower confidence. The Master Record Manager allows users to review clusters of matched records and to determine the best course of action, whether to merge the records (to a golden record) or to preserve individual records. Data Quality Firewall: By deploying a data quality process as a firewall application you can validate, cleanse and match data in real time ensuring the continued quality of your data. A data quality firewall is set up within the DQM. Further Details

Reports: By adding metrics from your business, such as associated costs, reports are available that give insight into the impact of data quality. Alongside this, users can obtain full reporting on the quality of the data and audit logs. Further Details.

Data Quality Scorecards: A data quality scorecard enables you to attach a value to the quality of your data and hence easily detect issues and over a period of time assess the improvement in the quality. Further Details.

Platforms

Datactics products and applications will run in both Unix and Windows environments. The data quality engines will run on both 32 bit and 64 bit processors and operating systems and are designed for massively parallel processing.
